White Kitchens: the Lasting Luxury Trend

In the early 1990s, white cabinets were taking the luxury kitchen world by storm. Yet, a few years later, suddenly builders were offering darker cabinetry, such as maple and other honey-colored woods. However, fast-forward to the 2010s and here we are again with a major resurgence of white luxury kitchens. This trend is something we can count on: it is absolutely here to stay. Take a peek at some of my favorite personal white kitchen designs!

White Kitchens Are Beautiful
With interior designers, contractors, and cabinet-makers bringing their presence online over recent years, the ability to quickly view the hottest trends can be done at the click of a button. Major publications like Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, and Better Homes are also spreading images of these gorgeous kitchens, as well as popular websites such as Houzz.com. With this much attention being focused on how white kitchens are not going out of style, homeowners are opting to recognize the beauty and universally agree that these hold an elegance beyond the others. Designers also love that white kitchens are pristine, crisp, and clean, something everyone wants when it comes to the heart of the home.

White Kitchens Are Classic
When homeowners are investing significant money into kitchen remodels or building homes of their own, they want something that is going to last. White kitchens have been a staple for decades, and the key to returning an investment is to find something that has a value that won’t fade. White kitchens are universal in their appeal and when betting on what style to go for, this is one that you’re guaranteed to not only enjoy for years, but see others love when you’re ready to move. When you’re thinking white kitchens, the main thing you need to remember is: timeless.
White Kitchens Bring Options
Whether you love contemporary or traditional interiors, white kitchens are a safe choice because they are adaptable and can be flexible with decorating. No matter what you choose, white always opens up a space and allows it to feel large, open, and expansive, whereas darker kitchens can make a space feel smaller or claustrophobic. Glass, exciting backsplashes, or design accents can bring in color, life, and energy to your kitchen, as well. This is one of my favorite things to do with luxury white kitchen remodels: finding a way to bring the homeowners’ spirit and style right into the accents of the design.

Overview
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a multitude of luxury home remodels, but white kitchens are something that has resoundingly been a top request. These bright, welcoming, and buoyant kitchens allow you to be flexible with lighting and bounce sunlight right into the home to lift your mood. This magic cannot be beat!
